ANDER’S SUPER SIX CAN SWING IT AT ANY TIME
ANDER HERRERA claims Manchester United’s six superstars are so good they can win games even when they are off the boil.
The Spanish midfielder hailed the influence of Paul Pogba, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Wayne Rooney, Juan Mata, Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford.
“When you have top players like Paul Pogba they can do that,” said Herrera. “They don’t need to play their best game to change it.
“We have Paul, we have Wayne Rooney, Juan Mata, Anthony Martial, Marcus Rashford and Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
“They are top players who can change a game even when they are not at their best.”
Pogba and Ibrahimovic scored ® the goals at Crystal Palace on Wednesday to earn a 2-1 Premier League victory and take United’s unbeaten run in all competitions to nine games.
“We are so happy because we showed our spirit,” added Herrera. “This was not our best game but even on a day when we didn’t play our best, we created six or seven chances.
“But a win is a win and it is even more important because all our rivals won, except Arsenal.
“We can take good things from this because we controlled the game when we were not at our best and that is important.
“One of our best times in the game was after they drew level and that showed the spirit of this team.
Praise
“We know we have deserved more points. I am so optimistic. The manager is so passionate and he thinks the same as us, that we should have had more points.”
Heaping praise on £89m Pogba, who made the late winner for Ibrahimovic after grabbing the opener, Herrera said: “He can change a game in one second.
“He has an unbelievable shot, he can head the ball, he can combine in the box and create something. He is a top player.” ¬ Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Marcos Rojo have escaped FA punishment for incidents in the win at Selhurst Park. Rojo was only given a yellow card for a two-footed lunge at Wilfried Zaha, while Ibrahimovic seemed to elbow Yohan Cabaye in the face.
