Stropy Klopp sounds like he's losing the plot!

KOP BOSS SHOWS STRAIN BY HAVING A POP GARY

- by PAUL BROWN

JURGEN KLOPP lacked class going after TV pundit Gary Neville and I think people have lost a lot of respect for him.

He was a breath of fresh air when he came to Liverpool, spoke his mind, said funny things and made everyone laugh.

But I nearly fell of my chair when I saw him getting upset about something Gary had said because he made it personal and that is out of order.

Gary Neville is entitled to his opinion. It’s his job to give it and sometimes that involves being critical. Get over it!

Lashing

These managers earn a fortune. Why should they care what some pundit says on the TV? Klopp had a go at the Kop the other week as well.

It’s pressure. He’s got to be careful or he’ll get himself in trouble, because lashing out at a pundit just makes you look stupid.

It’s just an opinion and it was a decent opinion as well. All Gary said was that he wasn’t sure about goalkeeper Loris Karius, who has not been playing well.

What’s wrong with that? The guy’s been making mistakes and should expect to be criticised.

But Klopp made it personal when he questioned whether Gary should be

on the TV because he didn’t last long as manager of Valencia. He crossed a line when he did that and there was no need for it. Kloppin didn't say a word about people criticising his players until Liverpool had a couple of sticky performances, did he?

Maybe it's Chelsea putting pressure on him because they are going clear at the top.

He had a little joke about the Nevilles being Manchester United boys and not liking Liverpool. Fine. But why did he have to go further? I’m a pundit. We should be able to speak our minds and be honest. You don’t want fans sitting at home thinking, ‘You don’t mean that, you’re just saying that’.

They want an honest opinion. If you go to the pub tonight, I bet everyone in there will have an opinion and everybody’s will be different. Managers like Klopp wouldn’t last five minutes in a pub full of fans if they can’t cope with what one pundit says on the TV. It shows he watches it though, doesn’t it?

I’ve had people have a go at me plenty of times for saying something they didn’t like.

I criticised Glen Johnson once and he came back and slaughtered me. Fair play. Then he had a good game and I said so. I don’t hold grudges and would like to think I’m fair and honest.

Andros Townsend didn’t like it when I said he shouldn’t be in the England squad. I said he should win some medals before he has a go at me. But I’ll say when I think he plays well.

I have a go at Arsene Wenger sometimes because I think he keeps on making the same mistakes every year. But it’s not because I’m bitter about Arsenal. I just say what I see and if sometimes people don’t like it, that’s their problem.

Criticise

What Klopp did was like Wenger saying I’d never managed, so what do I know? Firstly, I did manage. Secondly, I played at a much higher level than he ever did.

Players and managers should have a thicker skin. It’s a pundit’s job to criticise, it shouldn’t make any difference to them what we say.

Plus, when Gary Neville talks, he talks well. The analysis him and Jamie Carragher do for Monday Night Football is top drawer and he’s been a top player at one of the world’s biggest clubs.

It was just a bit classless from Klopp to have a pop at him, especially when he then goes and drops his keeper!

Okay, he might pretend he rested him, but you don’t rest keepers. You drop them. So you tell me who was right?
