IT’S the time of year most lads dread – finding the perfect stocking-thriller for that special someone in your life.

From getting the size right to actually venturing into a store and picking something she will actually wear (rather than unwrap and look at with horror), the whole thing can be a nightmare.

NADINE LINGE comes to rescue with the best High Street undies out there. And Page 3 favourite Brook, 20, tries them on. We also give tips on how to get it right, while our stylist Marie McCaver helps you work out which is best suited to your partner. You can thank us later!

HOW TO GET IT RIGHT Find out her size THERE’S nothing worse than excitedly unwrapping a sexy prezzie on Christmas morning only to discover your bloke thinks you’re the size of the house. So, fellas, make sure you check her vital statistics first. Have a rummage through her undies’ drawer when she’s not looking and take a look at the labels on the bras and knickers. And make sure you write bra and bottom sizes down to avoid getting flustered in a shop. Also remember that women are different sizes in different stores so if in doubt, go for a smaller size, but keep the receipt. And try to be confident in the shop. Remember, the sales assistants are professionals and have seen it all before – don’t be afraid to ask for help. Work out her favourite style THE fact you like something doesn’t necessarily mean your other half will – you have to think about what sort of woman she is. Is she a sexpot, a girlie girl or does she prefer things simple but elegant? Vampy girls will like blacks, deep reds and hot pink while girlie girls like our Brook prefer pastel colours. Black lingerie is always an excellent choice, classic in every sense of the word. It’s both sexy and stylish. Another tip is if you can escape unnoticed with one of your partner’s bras, try taking that into the shop and showing the assistant.

Set the scene JUST because you’ve bought some sexy frillies, don’t expect her to jump into bed with you. Set the scene before you hand over the gift with some romantic lighting or candles and a couple of glasses of bubbly. Perhaps even think about giving the gift to her on Christmas Eve before she’s loaded up on festive calories and is feeling too porky to wear it. And make sure you wrap it nicely in tissue paper in a box with a big ribbon. Perhaps get it gift-wrapped in store. Leave the labels on so it can be exchanged but take off the prices. And why not throw in a bottle of perfume or a box of chocs?

Navy glitter effect bra, £12.99, and matching knickers, £5.99, from New Look Marie says: “If a sneaky look in her underwear drawer reveals wall-to-wall black, then this navy number will shake things up a little – but not be too outrageous. It’s a great fitting set, too.”
