Troubled Danni tried to kill herself ‘8 or 9 times’
SOAP star Danniella Westbrook tried to kill herself “at least eight or nine times” last year.
The former EastEnders actress, who has struggled with drugs, “feels sick” when she looks at herself in the mirror.
She said: “I’m an addict and if I want drugs, I’ll find them. I can get where water can’t.”
The 43-year-old told Now mag-azine that at the height of her drug-taking she was using up to 11 packets of cocaine a day. She added: “I look at myself in the mirror and I feel sick.” Danniella appeared to have turned her career around after having her nose rebuilt, being clean for 15 years and in January last year starring in Celebrity Big Brother. But after dental implants and a boob job went wrong, leaving her with wonky breasts and implants that did not work, she started using again, saying it left her feeling “so low”.
Danniella insisted she did not snort cocaine but instead rubbed it around her gums to numb the pain.
She said: “Just look at me, look how old I look.
“After years of drug abuse I look old enough without this happening.”
The mum-of-two said she “could have died” after having three operations in seven weeks on her teeth which have left her with a gaping hole at the roof of her mouth. She told the magazine she hit the drugs after that episode and broke down when she and boyfriend George Arnold broke up, although they are now back together again.
Danniella added: “I didn’t want to live. I hated myself. Last year I tried to kill myself eight or nine times. It was after George and I broke up.
“I am the warning for taking drugs. “I have no self esteem and my body is knackered. Just look at it.”
