Bride ’n gloom gaffes
Black Monk’s ‘facelift’ for ghost hunter
A DJ playing You’ve Lost That Lovin’ Feelin’ for a first dance is among the biggest wedding disasters.
Punch-ups and the cake toppling over are other big day gaffes, says a study.
One couple said their wedding was ruined when the bride’s dad had a stroke.
About a third of married Brits said something went wrong on their wedding day with a DJ playing the Righteous Brothers classic one of the stand-outs, research by Barclays found.
The choice of venue is the main thing Brits would change about their big day if they could do it again. ®
A GHOST hunter claims he was possessed by an infamous spirit during a seance in Britain’s most haunted house.
Kyle Fowler says he fell under the influence of the Black Monk of Pontefract as he stared into a crystal ball while filming a spooky investigation.
He said: “My eyes went black and my face aged so that it looked like an old man.
“It was like the face of an old man had come over mine.”
A similar experience happened to his partner Ashley Flay’s mum, psychic medium Lillyanne, whose real name is Paula Bairstow.
A creepy photo taken during the seance shows a dark shadow across her face. Kyle, 28, of Leeds, said: “Ashley was calling my name, but I was zoned out and not responding.
“Eventually Ashley touched my shoulder and called me in for protection. I don’t know what would’ve happened if he hadn’t done this.”
Earlier, footage from the visit to the address on the Chequerfield Estate – said to be the site of the “most violent poltergeist haunting in Europe” – showed a hooded face behind them on the stairs. The spot is a regular haunt for the apparition, also known as Mr Nobody or Fred, who tormented the Pritchard family during the 1960s.
The haunting of 30 East Drive was the subject of the 2012 horror film When The Lights Went Out and was investigated for the 2015 Halloween special of Most Haunted Live.
