Former NCAA Division 1 heavyweight Jason Jordan agrees that Dawson and Wilder will soon make the same jump to the main roster.
“Without them having any titles right now, there is definitely an opportunity for them to come to either Smackdown or RAW and augment the tag team divisions,” he says.
Gable draws immediate comparisons with Hall of Fame inductee Kurt Angle for his Olympian status – he wrestled down the road from Lennon Towers here in London in 2012 – and his easy grasp of the enterone element of the business. He’s the funniest man with a tea towel in the game at press time.
Gable argues that it is the blend of talent which has allowed the men and women making the jump to shine on the biggest stage of them all in Florida.
“I think it’s so great that now we have these guys from Japan and from the UK, that they bring a different style, not just a location,”says Gable.
“It’s like you’re watching a completely different style of wrestling when you watch those guys and we like to think it’s the same when you’re watching us.
Jordan agrees, saying: “When you see the different styles everyone brings it really raises the bar and creates a great environment where the fans really enjoy the wresting aspect of the entertainment.
