Another rerun of Yantasy football

-

YANN KERMORGANT is hitting a purple patch at just the right time.

The veteran Reading striker, 35, scored two more last night to take his tally to four goals in three games.

And after helping Bournemouth to the Premier League two years ago he could now be repeating the trick with the Royals.

The Frenchman (right) scored two beautiful headers to put in-form Reading in control before the half hour mark.

And relegationthreatened Blackburn suffered early injury woe as defender Charlie Mulgrew was stretchered off with less than 10 minutes on the clock.

The evening did not get any better for them when Kermorgant headed home on 14 minutes from Tyler Blackett’s cross from the left. Kermorgant was at it again 15 minutes later as he headed in another left footed cross, this time from John Swift, to make it 13 for the season.

Reading now look nailed on for a play-off spot at least but their opponents face an uphill task to survive. Visiting boss Tony Mowbray went for broke at the break sending on Marvin Emnes and Lucas Joao and opted to play with just three defenders.

He was rewarded when Elliott Bennett crashed home with real venom from 25-yards after 77 minutes.

But Reading restored their two-goal cushion a minute later when Garath McCleary fired in from 12-yards.
