PRINCE Harry says he would love children after years of “chaos” since the death of Princess Diana.

He received widespread praise yesterday after speaking out about his mental anguish over the loss. Harry revealed he spent 18 years blocking out the trauma of Diana’s car crash in 1997. A couple of years ago, after an intervention by his brother William, the prince finally sought help. The 32-year-old now says talking about his mother’s death has helped him. Harry added: “I’ve now been able to take my work seriously, been able to take my private life seriously as well. Of course I would love to have kids.” The royal spent the Easter weekend with his Hollywood actress girlfriend Meghan Markle in Toronto, Canada. Divorcee Meghan, 35, has also been planning to have a family for years.

And Harry has had lots of training since his friends and brother William started having children.

He said he now “loves” spending time with his many godchildren, as well as his nephew Prince George, three, and niece Princess Charlotte, one.

It is a far cry from his wayward 20s during which time Harry admitted he “stuck his head in the sand”.

The prince had to apologise after wearing a Nazi swastika to a fancy dress party in 2005.

Then he was photographed naked in a Las Vegas hotel room in 2012.

But the prince said it was all part of him thinking “life was great” and struggling to cope with his mum’s death.

He told mental health journalist Bryony Gordon: “(I thought) it’s only going to make you sad, it’s not going to bring her back.

“So from an emotional side, I was like: ‘Right, don’t ever let your emotions be part of anything.’”

“And then I started to have a few conversations and actually all of a sudden, all of this grief that I have never processed started to come to the forefront and I was like, there is actually a lot of stuff here that I need to deal with.”

Labour MP Chuka Umunna said he had “big, big respect” for Harry for being so open.
