Op dad left with no fear

A DAD-of-two who was scared of heights has be­come a daredevil after hav­ing his adrenalin gland re­moved to leave him with no fear.

Jordy Cernik, 42, now sky­dives and ab­seils and has been la­belled one of the top 10 real-life su­per­heroes by web­sites around the world.

He suf­fers from Cush­ing’s syn­drome which causes high lev­els of cor­ti­sol.

To treat the con­di­tion, Jordy un­der­went a se­ries of brain op­er­a­tions and two pro­ce­dures to re­move his adrenal glands.

Jordy, of Jar­row, Tyne and Wear, said: “When I’m stand­ing on top of a tower or about to jump I know I should feel fear.

“But the mes­sage is just not get­ting through from my brain.”
