FIEND SHOOTS MAN DEAD ON
Killer in gun video horror
A HUGE manhunt has been launched after a crazed killer broadcast himself murdering a stranger live on Facebook.
Steve Stephens uploaded footage appearing to show him shooting pensioner Robert Godwin Snr, 74.
In the distressing video Stephens, 37, says to the camera: “Found me somebody I’m about to kill... this old dude.” He then approaches Mr Godwin and ® asks him to say a name, believed to be his ex-partner Joy Lane, before declaring: “She’s the reason this is about to happen to you.”
Moments later he appears to shoot the defenceless pensioner, who falls to the ground with blood streaming from his head. He was later pronounced dead.
Retired factory worker and fatherof-10 Robert was described yesterday by his family as a “kind and caring” man.
Stephens fled the scene and remains “armed and dangerous”.
Another ranting video later emerged where he claimed to have killed 13 more people in Cleveland, Ohio.
Rampage
But police in the city said they had not linked any other victims or incidents to the suspect.
In other posts Stephens, reportedly a children’s mental health case worker, blamed his rampage on gambling debts and his partner of three years leaving him. He later declared that the killing wouldn’t stop until she and his mum called him.
Police believe Stephens may have fled into neighbouring states. They warned people in Pennsylvania, New York, Indiana and Michigan to stay alert.
Facebook said in a statement it was “a horrific crime”. The video and Stephens’ profile have been removed.
