The Brazilian revealed he is due to hold talks over a new contract in the next few weeks.

Lucas, 30, has been at Anfield for 10 years but admits he doesn’t know for how much longer.

“I would love to have the 100 per cent right answer for you,” he said.

“I have one more year left after this, but I think I need to just concentrate on the next five games.

“I have been here long enough and if the time comes for me to go somewhere else, I think I will leave with the feeling I did everything I could.

Deliver

“I don’t really know what will happen. The last few games I have played I feel very good.

“I have played centreback and midfield, so I give options to the manager and when he needs me, I always try to deliver.

“There is no doubt about my commitment to Liverpool.

“I just need to wait until the end of the season, work hard and make a decision together with the club.”

Lucas was a £5m signing from Gremio in 2007. He has played for five different managers, making 242 appearances.

“We will agree something which is good for the both of us,” he added.

“I have to analyse it all. I am getting to the stage where I think I can help a lot off the pitch, of course, but on the pitch as well.”
