THREE teenage girls were arrested by anti-terror police yesterday in a swoop linked to last week’s house raid in which a woman was shot.

The suspects – two aged 18 and one 19 – were held as part of an “on-going intelligence-led operation”.

They were arrested in east London and were being questioned at a police station outside the capital suspected of commissioning, preparing and instigating terrorist acts. Police chiefs said the arrests were linked to Thursday’s raid in Willesden, north-west London, when a 21-year-old woman was shot by armed officers. She was held by police on the same allegations after being treated in hospital.

Six others were detained following Thursday’s counter-terror raid, including a 16-year-old boy. Police also arrested a 27-year-old man last Thursday in an “intelligence-led arrest”.

A bag of knives was found nearby when he was seized close to Downing Street.

The house in Harlesden Road had been under surveillance by counter terrorism officers as part of an ongoing operation.

Police have been on alert since March when Khalid Masood, 52, killed five pedestrians on Westminster Bridge before stabbing a police officer as he tried to enter Parliament.

Masood was shot dead by armed officers.
