LUKE GALE is praying Castleford’s bittersweet success doesn’t leave fans feeling sour tonight.

The table-topping Tigers have got three players, including Gale, away on international duty with England.

His half-back partner Ben Roberts, who turned down the chance to play for Samoa, is also injured.

That means they face a potential banana skin in tonight’s clash at Huddersfield and Gale admits he’ll feel bad if they slip up.

He said: “I’m elated to have been picked by England and really happy that two of the other Cas boys are with me, too.

Chance

“But it will be a bittersweet feeling if we do not get the two points against Huddersfield. We have got a decent squad, though, and this is a chance for someone else to step up and do well.”

Zak Hardaker and Mike McMeeken are also in the England squad, along with Giants winger Jermaine McGillvary, for the Test against Samoa in Australia on Saturday.

Full-back Hardaker said: “It is a tough one for Cas but if we want Super League to progress, we need the international game to be better.

“To do that, we’ve got to play these Test matches and unfortunately that means some of us missing club games.” ST HELENS are expected to announce relatively unknown Aussie Justin Holbrook as their new coach.

The former half-back is assistant coach at Sydney Roosters and is also in charge of the Junior Kangaroos.

They play the Junior Kiwis tomorrow, meaning Holbrook is expected to arrive next week when he will face a baptism of fire.

The club, who sacked Keiron Cunningham last month, play leaders Castleford in a televised Challenge Cup sixthround tie on Saturday week. 8
