Moses: I’m rocking in new role

VICTOR MOSES has played a key role in Chelsea’s title chase even though he didn’t have a clue he was being readied for a positional change.

Antonio Conte switched to a 3-4-3 formation after Chelsea crashed 3-0 against Arsenal in September.

It meant Moses – who made his name as a flying winger – was suddenly thrown in at the deep end and moved to wing-back.

And Conte, Moses and the Blues have not looked back.

Moses said: “He didn’t say to me, ‘Do I fancy playing wing-back?’ – he just put me in there.

“He put me there and after that he just kept on encouraging me and went through it with me, what the position was all about, mostly in training.

“And, constantly, he was talking to me in training to make sure I was improving in it, talking me through it.

“I took that in, and I didn’t look back.

“I kept watching the video of myself after the first game against Hull to make sure I was in the right place.

“And after that I took it in and kept on improving. “It was a new position, but it was a new manager giving me the opportunity to express myself. “I know that I have never played that position before, but I am enjoying it. You need a lot of stamina to be able to play that position and it’s a responsibility for me as well.

“I just want to keep on working, working hard every game every week, to make sure I am improving in it. The more games I play the better I get.”
