WHAT’S HOT TO WATCH TODAY

- MIKE WARD

MONTY Don goes a bit bananas on GARDENERS’

WORLD (8pm, BBC2) tonight – or so it seems, when he actually suggests that UK gardeners try to grow the tropical yellow fruit in their summer containers.

We’ve heard of climate change, but surely we’re not as warm as Costa Rica just yet!

Green-fingered Monty also whisks us to the magnificent Chatsworth House in the Peak District, which is staging its first RHS flower show from Monday to Friday next week.

He learns all about the challenges of putting on the event and wanders around the house’s extensive grounds. LOOKING for laughs? Bake Off presenter Sue Perkins joins the trio of late-night funnymen – Adam Hills, Josh Widdicombe and Alex Brooker – in THE LAST LEG (Channel 4, 10pm) for a sideways glance at the latest headlines, making all their best gags about next week’s General Election – plenty of fodder there!

It’s always a gas to hang out with Hills & Co, especially when they verge into politically incorrect territory with their question: “Is it OK?” TOM Cruise drops by to sprinkle extra stardust on THE GRAHAM NORTON

SHOW (10.35pm, BBC1), have a laugh and plug his latest film, The Mummy. The superstar clearly gets a kick out of Graham’s irreverent approach to chat, given this is his fourth appearance on the show.

Heartthrob Zac Efron turns up to promote the Baywatch movie revival and generally send younger hearts aflutter. And former Gossip frontwoman Beth Ditto’s comeback continues as she provides the music, belting out her latest single, Fire.
