WHAT’S HOT TO WATCH TODAY
IT’S brilliant scheduling, you’ve got to admit. Emma Willis brings us the BIG
BROTHER: LIVE LAUNCH at 8.30pm tonight (Channel 5), and then half an hour later we’ve got Caroline Flack on ITV2 kicking off the new series of LOVE ISLAND. So whichever way you plan your viewing – ie. which bits you choose to watch live and which you watch on catch-up – that’s three and half hours of top-notch reality telly to lap up. And that’s not counting all the extra BB stuff with Rylan, from 10.35pm, or over an hour of live streaming from the house, from 11.35pm.
It’s way too soon for us to know, of course, which of the new housefreaks and islanders we’re going to love to bits, and which we’ll be wanting to slap. But I already know I envy the bunch of them more than ever. In this week of all weeks, who in their right mind wouldn’t rather be hundreds of miles away, swanning around a swanky sun-baked mediterranean villa with other like-minded, lust-crazed souls, or even just banged up in some glorified open prison in Hertfordshire. It’s got to be better than the real world. SUZI PERRY’S QUEENS
OF THE ROAD (7.30pm, BBC1) is a one-off thing about the Cookstown 100 National Road Race, the annual motorbiking event staged on the scarily winding roads surrounding this County Tyrone town. Suzi’s focusing on three female competitors, including a Belfast woman who only took up the sport in her late 40s. ELSEWHERE, by way of a blokier alternative, James Corden and pals set out on A LEAGUE OF THEIR OWN: US
ROAD TRIP 2.0 (9pm, Sky1). Don’t miss Mike’s exclusive column at www.dailystar.co.uk/columnists. Follow him on Twitter @mikewardontv.
