Defiant Finn is in it to win it

- By RODNEY WHITE

STEVE FINN insists England must defy the terrorists by playing on.

The fast bowler has been called in to the squad to replace the injured Chris Woakes for the second Champions Trophy match against New Zealand in Cardiff tomorrow.

And Finn says England’s players will try and provide some cheer after the latest terror attack in London on Saturday night.

“We are very sad about it and send our condolences to those affected,” said Finn (left).

“It is a sorry state of affairs but we will keep playing cricket and be defiant in the face of it.

“Hopefully we can put a smile on people’s faces here on Tuesday.”

England are confident the security arrangements in place for the tournament are robust enough to keep players and crowds safe. Several were indirectly affected by the events at London

RENATO PARATORE won his first European Tour title at the Nordea Masters after overnight leader Chris Wood bogeyed the final hole.

Italian Paratore, 20, carded a closing 70 in Malmo, Sweden, to finish 11 under par.

Playing in the group behind, England’s Wood pulled his tee shot on the last into the trees.

He was forced to take a penalty drop, resulting in a bogey which dropped him to second.
