CHERYL Tweedy has blasted a sacked transgender model after being dragged into the bitter L’Oréal race row.

A spokesman said the singer was “disappointed” Munroe Bergdorf, 29 – who was was axed by the beauty brand after claiming all white people were racist – attacked her when she appeared on the BBC’s Victoria Derbyshire show.

Bergdoff suggested it was not fair that L’Oréal still had Cheryl on their books despite her conviction for assault.

She was found guilty of punching a toilet attendant in 2003, but acquitted of racially-aggravated actual bodily harm.

Bergdorf told Derbyshire: “They’ve got Cheryl on the campaign and she was convicted for actively punching a black woman.

“I don’t understand how I’m not ‘in line with their values’ but they will hire Cheryl over and over again and give her more and more chances, but she was convicted for punching a black woman in the face.”

Cheryl’s spokesman said: “More than 14 years ago Cheryl was unanimously acquitted of racially-aggravated assault.

“She is disappointed to find her name involved in Munroe’s interview.”

Meanwhile, Cheryl, 34, has revealed she did not hire a nanny to help care for her newborn son Bear. She said she cares for him herself.

Boyfriend Liam Payne has called her a “superwoman” for her mothering efforts.
