Brit croc horror victim is found

-

THE body of a British tourist killed by a crocodile in Sri Lanka was recovered by divers yesterday.

Paul McClean was found in a muddy lagoon with “six or seven” wounds to his legs.

The surfer, from Thames Ditton, Surrey, had been on a dream holiday when he was dragged to his death while washing his hands in a river.

Horrified pals saw the beast pull the 25-year-old journalist under the water at a beauty spot off the south coast of India popular with British backpackers.

Fawas Lafeer, who owns local Safa Surf school, said: “Fishermen saw him attacked by the crocodile.

“By the time they went to the spot they couldn’t save him because the croc had pulled him under water.”

One British tourist, who did not wish to be named, said: “People last saw his arms in the air in the water and then he was grabbed under.”

A judge-led inquiry has been launched into the incident. A RARE signed first edition of Harry Potter And The Philosopher’s Stone which JK Rowling gave to a pal could make £40,000 when sold in November.
