ENABLE HEADS A STELLAR HQ CAST

- by CHRIS GOULDING

ENABLE, favourite for next month’s Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe, heads a cast of stars the public can see at this weekend’s 32Red Newmarket Open Weekend.

The four-time Group 1 winner will be in action tomorrow on the Warren Hill gallops between 8.00am and 9.00am.

She will be joined by Ulysses, the Eclipse and Juddmonte winner, and Marsha, the star of last month’s Nunthorpe Stakes.

More than 20 stables will be opening their doors to the public from 9.00am to 12.30pm.

The event kicks off today when the National Heritage Centre opens at 8.00am along with the British Racing School and there will be tours to the National Stud.

Johnno Spence, the organiser, said: “It’s fantastic that the public will be able to see Enable cantering as well as many of the other Newmarket stars and I’m sure the yards will be more popular than ever with Godolphin and Roger Varian opening up again this year.”

Ed Dunlop, Luca Cumani, James Fanshawe and Charlie Appleby’s Godolphin yard will also be open. The public can also give the Ascot Gold Cup hero Big Orange a pat at Michael Bell’s yard.

Tomorrow, Frankie Dettori and Andrea Atzeni with be taking part in a show jumping event. They will be joined by James Doyle, Jason Weaver, Francesca Cumani and Josephine Gordon.

A Food and Drink Festival takes place over the two days.

Tickets are £18 both days. Children under 18 go free. See www.newmarkettickets. thejockeyclub.co.uk for details.
