KIDNAP PAGE 3 GIRL ‘MADE IT ALL UP’
Chloe abduction was a PR stunt, court told
MODEL Chloe Ayling’s kidnap was a “sham” to raise her media profile, a court heard.
Michal Konrad Herba is fighting extradition to Italy over claims he was part of a sex slave cult that snatched the Page 3 babe. Herba’s brother Lukasz Pawel Herba, 30, is suspected of masterminding the 20-year-old’s kidnap after she was reportedly lured to a photoshoot in Turin and stuffed in a suitcase.
But Herba’s lawyer George Hepburne Scott told Westminster Magistrates’ Court: “There are reasonable grounds to believe the entire case is a sham.
“There has been a great deal of media attention on this case.
“In April, the same complainant generated publicity from the fact she was near the site of a terrorist attack on the Champs Elysees in Paris.
“During the relatively short kidnapping the captor and captive went to buy shoes. Another anomalous feature.
“As was the decision to release the ® complainant on the grounds she was a mother.
“When they went to the British consulate in Italy, it was initially closed so they went for breakfast together. There are a number of anomalies in this case, if the court even thinks this to be a publicity stunt by Chloe Ayling, this process should be stopped.”
The court then heard the Italian authorities had DNA, video and tapped telephone evidence.
Florence Iveson, representing the judicial authority, said: “He is requested by a court in Milan in Italy.
“It is an accusation warrant on a single count of kidnapping.
“The allegation is he with the complicity of his brother and other unknown persons, kidnapped the victim in Milan.
“It is said she was drugged and kidnapped and a E300,000 ransom was demanded.”
A judgment is expected on Friday.
