My ‘Brit Harvey’ sex hell
Hundreds of ‘victims’ set to speak out
GLAMOUR model Jodie Marsh claims a famous UK showbiz kingpin – dubbed the “Brit Harvey Weinstein” – is about to be outed for sex attacks.
CELEBRITIES last night called for “abusive” British film and telly bosses to be “outed” like Harvey Weinstein.
Predators who “target” actresses for sex have been working here “for years”, it was claimed. Showbiz chiefs were told “it will only take one girl” to speak out to open the floodgates. The warning came as movie mogul Weinstein reels from numerous rape and sex harassment allegations. Yesterday Rose McGowan, star of US telly series Charmed, was the latest to say she was attacked and raped by the movie icon. She claimed she told Amazon film boss Roy Price about her alleged ordeal but said she was ignored. Now British celebrities are calling for abused women here to lift the lid on sickening behaviour.
Targeted
TV star Jodie Marsh said she knew of at least one manager who had targeted “hundreds” of young girls. She said: “I’m just waiting for some more British ones to be outed now.
“There’s one manager who’s been sexually harassing girls for years. “He tried it with me 15 years ago.” She added: “It’ll only take one girl to admit he plied her with drink and drugs and then hundreds will come forward.”
Weinstein, 65, has been accused of inappropriate behaviour by big name stars including Gwyneth Paltrow and Cara Delevingne.
Ms McGowan, 44, claimed telly and movie streaming giant Amazon dropped one of her shows when she demanded they stop working with the shamed mogul.
The star claimed that when she complained to Amazon about working with Weinstein, its head of studio Mr Price “dismissed her claims”.
Tweeting Amazon chief Jeff Bezos, she wrote: “I am calling on you to stop funding rapists, alleged paedos and sexual harassers.”
An Amazon spokesman said: “Roy Price is on leave of absence effective immediately.”
A spokesman for Weinstein said he “unequivocally denied” allegations of “non-consensual sex”.
