IAN Brady’s wish for music about a satanic orgy to be played at his funeral has been rejected.
Instead the monster will be disposed of in secret with no music and no ceremony.
Moors Murderer Brady had chosen Symphony Fantastique by Berlioz, about a “diabolical orgy” involving witches.
But at the High Court yesterday Sir Geoffrey Vos, Chancellor of the High Court, banned the classical piece from his funeral.
He ruled: “The theme and subject of the piece means legitimate offence would be caused to the families of the deceased’s victims once it became known it had been played.”
Hidden
He also barred Brady’s lawyer Robin Makin from having anything to do with the funeral after he refused to reveal what he planned to do with the body.
Since Brady’s death at Merseyside’s Ashworth High Secure Hospital in May, his body has been kept at a hidden location. Details of the funeral will be revealed a week after it takes place to avoid public fury.
Brady and his lover Myra Hindley were jailed for life in 1966 for the murders of Edward Evans and Lesley Ann Downey, both 10, and 12-year-old John Kilbride.
The pair later admitted they also killed Keith Bennett, 12, and 16-year-old Pauline Reade.
Families feared Brady may have asked to have his ashes scattered over Saddleworth Moor, Lancs, where he and Hindley buried their young victims.
