Silva stays on attack

- by IAN BAKER

WATFORD boss Marco Silva is prepared to risk another home hammering today.

He insists he will not change the attacking philosophy that has helped the Hornets to eighth spot in the Premier League.

And even though their last Vicarage Road game resulted in a 6-0 mauling by Manchester City, Silva will not make drastic changes for today’s Arsenal clash.

He said: “You can change many, many things, but our idea is impossible to change.

“Since the first day that we worked on that idea, I have passed it on to my players.

“What we can change is our strategy for the match, in some moments our formation as well. But our idea, our style of play, it is impossible.

“If you like to play to win a game, I can’t change this idea in the week I play against Arsenal, Chelsea or City. I try to get them to play with ambition with my style and have done since my first day as a coach.”

Silva already has ‘previous’ with Arsenal after guiding Olympiakos to a shock 3-2 win at the Emirates two years ago.

He added: “It was a very good night but under different conditions in the Champions League.

“Saturday will be a different game – three points are important.

“We need to stay focused for 95 minutes because in one moment they can decide the match.”
