Kane's 223m price tag

- by DAVID WOODS

REAL MADRID claim Tottenham value Harry Kane at a staggering £223m.

Real president Florentino Perez said yesterday he would have to shatter the world transfer record if he ever wanted to sign the England striker.

The 24-year-old Spurs hitman has scored an amazing 45 goals for club and country in 2017.

But although the Spanish giants have been heavily linked with a move for the 24-year-old hitman, Perez says it is out of the question at the moment.

Asked if he had spoken to Spurs chairman Daniel Levy about Kane, Perez

said: “No, because if I ask he’ll tell me 250m.

“Signing Harry Kane has not passed through my head.

“He is a magnificent player and he is young, so has many years before him to progress.

“But we are delighted with the team we have, including Karim Benzema.”

The current world record is the £200m summer transfer of Neymar from Barcelona to Paris St-Germain.

Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane praised Kane before Tottenham’s 1-1 draw at the Bernabeu in the Champions League last week and earlier this month the striker admitted for the first time he might one day play abroad.

He did, however, stress that he is happy at the club he has been with since he was 16.

Spurs host Real at Wembley next Wednesday.

And Perez says he enjoys an excellent relationship with Levy, who sold both Luka Modric and Gareth Bale to them.

“We built a very good friendship,” he said.

“Every time we win the European Cup, Daniel told me the same thing, ‘Thank you for winning the European Cup with my players’.”
