RHIAN ON A MISSION

Young Lions hotshot is out to reign over Spain

- by DARREN WITCOOP

RHIAN BREWSTER is out for revenge after firing England to the Under-17s World Cup Final.

If England’s young guns can beat Spain tomorrow, then a Three Lions team will be crowned world champions for the second time in five months.

But this team has history with Spain, having suffered penalty shoot-out agony in this summer’s Under-17s Euro Final in Croatia.

And all eyes will be on the Liverpool striker, who bagged his second successive hat-trick in Wednesday’s 3-1 win over Brazil, to ensure Steve Cooper’s side can go one better.

Hard

Brewster believes he can cope with the pressure and said: “We’re looking forward to the final, when we’re hoping to produce again.

“We know it’s going to be another hard game, but we’ll look forward to it and work our socks off to win the World Cup.

“It’s amazing to score a hat-trick and I’m very happy to be able to contribute to the team. Now let’s go and be the winners.”

Brewster admits he is living the dream following England’s fairy-tale march to the final in India.

The tournament’s seven-goal top scorer said: “I dedicate my hattrick to my mum, my dad, my little sister and my family and teammate Jonny Panzo, because it was his 17th birthday.

“You just never think you’re going to get two hat-tricks in a World Cup.

“And to do it in a quarterfinal and a semi-final is an amazing feeling. I’m over the moon. It’s a big dream come true for me.” England lost star man Jadon Sancho early into the tournament when the playmaker was recalled by Borussia Dortmund. But Brewster and Phil Foden have stepped up in his absence. And the Under-17s will be out to emulate the Under-20s’ feat from earlier this summer. Cooper’s rookies know that they will need to pull out all the stops to beat the tournament favourites in Kolkata. And Brewster added: “It’s a big occasion, but we are ready for it. We will prepare well and aim to put in another great performance.”
