Nurse died after park splash horror

A TEENAGER has been charged with the murder of a nurse who died after acid was thrown over her.

Joanne Rand was sitting on a park bench when a group of youths began fighting.

It is believed that she was splashed with the corrosive substance during the altercation.

Joanne, 47, right, died at Stoke Mandeville Hospital 11 days after the incident in Frogmoor, near High Wycombe, Bucks.

Xeneral Webster, 18, of Hammersmith, west London, will face a murder charge at Reading Crown Court in April next year.

Webster is also charged with grievous bodily harm, robbery and possession of an offensive weapon in the June 3 incident. Following the attack, detectives issued a CCTV picture of the acid bottle believed to have been used in the hope that the public might find it and hand it in to the police.
