While I think John Carpenter’s masterpiece Halloween deserves to be on this list, I decided to go with the little-seen Henry, a stunning psychologically-charged and chillingly authentic low-budget feature loosely based on the life of serial killer Henry Lee Lucas. John Carpenter’s remake of is Howard Hawks’ 1950s sci-fi horror my favourite horror film of all time. From the characters and the hugely atmospheric direction to its last impact it is quite simply perfect.
