Wenger in a vote of confidence

- By DAVID WOODS

ARSENE WENGER has told Arsenal fans demanding ‘Wexit’ they are not looking at the bigger picture.

Just as many in the nation voted for Brexit then regretted it, Wenger suggested Gunners supporters were acting hastily in their demands for change at the top.

The Frenchman revealed at a stormy shareholders meeting on Thursday that he was ready to review his own position at the end of the season, halfway through his two-year deal.

But Wenger, whose men face Swansea at home today, says radical change at the top at Arsenal may not ® be the answer. “The club is first about values, and in the modern game we lose a little bit the perspective of what is important and what is not,” he said.

“You have the same example with Brexit – it’s just here now, but where do we go from there? Nobody really knows.

“Maybe it is good, maybe it is bad. I don’t know. But nobody has explained what will happen in the future if we do that.

“This club that has been created is first about values.

“I know that nobody cares any more.”
