SIMON Cowell is set to miss The X Factor tonight amid fears over his stress levels after collapsing and falling down the stairs.

The workaholic music mogul, 58, was taken to hospital and attached to a blood pressure monitor.

SIMON Cowell’s lover dashed to his bedside last night after he suffered a horror fall and fears grew for his health.

The music mogul, 58, was rushed to hospital in an ambulance after plummeting down a flight of stairs.

He was fetching a cup of hot milk at his London mansion but fainted and slipped at 8am yesterday.

Paramedics strapped him on to a stretcher before taking him to hospital wearing a neck brace.

Lauren Silverman, the mother of their three-year-old son Eric, jetted in from New York.

The American beauty, 40, had been visiting her older son Adam – from a previous relationship – but dropped everything to rush home.

Simon suffered concussion after smashing his head and had to have a scan. The dad-of-one was later discharged from hospital and was seen wearing a blood pressure monitor as he returned home in a Range Rover with his entourage.

He tried to put on a brave face by giving a thumbs-up to reporters.

But the image-conscious TV boss, whose shoelaces were untied, looked pale and groggy.

Speaking in jogging bottoms on his doorstep, Simon said: “I fainted and fell down the stairs. I’ve got a bit of concussion. I feel better now.”

The X Factor overlord was forced to take time off from the ITV show earlier this year due to poor health.

Simon missed several auditions after being stricken with “mystery illnesses”.

Tonight’s live X Factor show was last night in turmoil, with telly bosses unable to say if the chief judge would appear. Simon said last night: “I will be back, but I don’t know about tomorrow.”

Workaholic smoker Simon has boasted about his fitness regime, saying: “I work out three or four times a week, take tons of vitamins and vitamin infusions.”
