CHERYL Tweedy could be set for a sensational return to The X Factor.

The former Girls Aloud star is tipped to replace Simon Cowell as a judge at the weekend.

Cowell sparked a health scare by falling down a flight of stairs at his London mansion on Friday.

He was forced to pull out of both live X Factor shows last weekend.

Cowell also failed to turn up to last night’s Pride Of Britain Awards at London’s Grosvenor House.

Telly bosses fear that viewing figures could plunge without their showman at the helm.

The Sunday show drew an average of just 4.6million viewers.

Favourite

Bookies now have Cheryl as hot favourite to take his chair.

They give odds of 2-1 he will not return at the weekend and 33-1 he sits out the entire series.

Paddy Power spokesman, Lee Price, said: “If he doesn’t make it back, ITV will want a star name to replace him. Who better than Cheryl?”

Cowell was rushed to hospital after low blood pressure caused him to faint and smash his head.

His partner Lauren Silverman, mum to his three-year-old son Eric, jetted back to London from New York.

But X Factor judge Louis Walsh reckons “workaholic” Cowell will soon be back.

Speaking on Loose Women yesterday, he insisted: “He goes home at night and is on to people in Los Angeles, making records.

“He never stops. I’m sure he’s going to be back this weekend. He loves his job.”
