EAMONN Holmes admitted he has his “life, wife and footie back” now Ruth Langsford has been kicked off Strictly.

TV star Ruth landed in the dance-off last night after her foxtrot was slated.

Judge Craig Revel Horwood said Ruth “trotted like a horse” during her routine with dancer Anton du Beke.

And she lost out in the eliminator against the Paralympian Jonnie Peacock.

This Morning and Loose Women’s Ruth missed out on next week’s big show at the Blackpool Tower Ballroom.

Last night This Morning host Eamonn joked he no longer had to spend Saturdays in a TV studio watching his wife dance and could go back to supporting his beloved Manchester United.

He said: “Ruth didn’t make it to Blackpool but I intend to be in the North West next Saturday – but at the United V Newcastle match at 5.30pm. “I am of course very sad about Ruth’s exit. But natural order is restored. I have my wife, my life and my football back.” Eamonn praised Anton for “defending” his wife against harsh comments by the panel. He added: “Anton was so good to her. Top bloke.” He added: “I am so proud of Ruth. She is exhausted emotionally but she enjoyed the whole journey.” Last night Ruth said of her Strictly experience: “I’m disappointed for Anton because he should be going to Blackpool. “He’s made this whole thing so much fun.” Anton said Ruth was “beyond the most joyous person I have met”.
