Black to slack fear
THE Black Friday sales bonanza is set to be a flop, shop bosses fear.
Stores are expecting the lowest spending figures since it became a key trading day in 2013.
Black Friday, on November 24, signals the start of the festive rush. But experts say sales will drop 0.6% on last year.
Diane Wehrle, a director of retail guru Springboard, said: “Consumers won’t be as eager to spend because they’ve less money in their pockets. And retailers have unusually run sales in the last few months, crucially outside of the traditional discount periods.”
