Cousin shot dead after leaving singer’s party
RIHANNA was heartbroken last night after a gunman shot dead her cousin hours after they celebrated Christmas together.
The superstar singer has now made a passionate plea for an end to gun violence in her native Barbados.
DEVASTATED Rihanna has revealed her heartbreak after her cousin was killed hours after their Christmas celebrations.
Tavon Kaiseen Alleyne was walking along a track in Barbados when he was shot several times.
The 21-year-old’s body was discovered at 7pm on Tuesday and he was taken to a nearby hospital where he died from his injuries.
Singer Riri paid tribute in a series of Instagram posts, in which she also called for an end to gun violence in her native country.
Posting four pictures of the pair together, she wrote: “RIP cousin... can’t believe it was just last night that I held you in my arms!”
She added the hashtag #endgunviolence and later used a memorial panel on her Instagram Stories, with a black background and his handle – @merka_95. She wrote: “Rest up lil cuz.” A woman named Tanella, who appears to be a relative, also posted a photo of herself with Tavon at the hospital.
She put an emoji of an angel over his face and wrote: “I never thought the day would come that I would have to bury you my love!
“This was our first Christmas together we clean we decorate and everything!! Tavon I know you was trying to be a better person!! I loveee you soooo muchhhhhhhhh brother omg!”
Tavon’s killer fled the scene after the shooting and had not been identified last night.
It is not known whether it was a targeted attack or if the pair knew each other.
Thousands of Rihanna’s fans posted messages of support.
