LEVY: WE’LL KEEP STARS
DANIEL LEVY has slapped not-for-sale signs on the heads of Tottenham’s star men.
Spurs chairman Levy insists Harry Kane, Dele Alli and Co. are staying, despite rival clubs willing to offer them a big pay hike.
Kyle Walker trebled his wages when he moved to Manchester City last summer. And Kane (right) has indicated the club need to start winning trophies to keep him.
But Levy says Spurs, who move into their new £750m stadium next summer, won’t be forced to cash in on their prize assets.
He said: “I’m 100 per cent confident that every player we want to keep will be playing for Tottenham next season.
“Everything we do with this stadium is for the benefit of the club.”
Spurs are preparing ® new contract offers for England pair Kane and Alli. They also hope to tie Toby Alderweireld to an extended deal. Asked if there will be any new signings this month, Levy said: “Mauricio’s strategy has always been if an opportunity arises that he thinks can improve the squad, then we’re more than willing to look at it. But January is always a very difficult window.” Spurs will host only one NFL game this year, when Oakland Raiders face the Seattle Seahawks on October 14, despite their 10-year deal to stage two games a season. Wembley will host the Jacksonville Jaguars v Philadelphia Eagles and Los Angeles Chargers v Tennessee Titans on the following two weekends.
