Ex-cop Mag’s scandal chats are ‘censored’

- By PETER DYKE peter.dyke@dailystar.co.uk

FORMER detective Maggie Oliver claims Celebrity Big Brother censored her chats about the Rochdale sex scandal.

The whistleblower quit the force in 2012 to expose the fact that nothing was being done to help the scores of youngsters who were being abused.

Her battle was turned into a BBC drama last year called Three Girls.

Before she went on the Channel 5 show, Maggie said she planned to dish more dirt on police failings over the grooming case.

She said: “I am going to be talking about what happened, far more than ever came out in the drama. That was a tiny snapshot of what went on. The Rochdale case was the hardest two years of my life.”

But since being evicted from the CBB house she has watched recordings of the nightly highlights shows, and claims none of her “serious conversations” were aired.

She told ITV’s Loose Women she was disappointed – especially as CBB was celebrating the Year Of The Woman and the 100th anniversary of women getting the vote.

Maggie said: “When you’re in there you’re in this bubble and you don’t know what is being shown on the outside.

“I did have lots of really serious, interesting conversations because it’s the Year Of The Woman. “When I was in there I was talking about the police, about the criminal justice system, about homelessness, zero hours contracts, poverty, and minimum wages. Those conversations haven’t been shown. It’s an entertainment ‘BUBBLE’: In house show.” But Maggie said she had no regrets about taking part.

She added: “I was frightened about going in – I might come out and my kids weren’t speaking to me or I might end up in the Jacuzzi with no clothes on in the middle of the night, but I didn’t do that.”

Last night a Channel 5 spokesman said: “Not all of the action that takes place in the Big Brother house over a 24-hour period is shown in the daily hourlong highlights show.”
