KP after one-day job offer

-

® from RODNEY WHITE KEVIN PIETERSEN has been so impressed by England’s one-day team he would like to work with them.

That is unlikely given his major fallout with the game’s hierarchy, but even so he is still a big fan of Eoin Morgan’s side.

The 37-year-old, who is set to retire this year, said: “It would be nice to have a connection. I have an incredible amount to offer.

“It is wasted that English cricketers do not benefit. They still come to me and ask for help and I love that.

“To be involved with this young one-day set up would be nice because I love the way they play.

System

“I love the attacking nature of the team. It is brilliant to see they are playing the way we should always have been playing.

“We have always had the players but it was the system. It is lovely they have a free rein. Trevor Bayliss has had so much experience in the IPL and T20 cricket so he’s seen failure and success.

“White-ball cricket is something they fancy and want to win a World Cup. It is brilliant they’re backing players to be so positive.”

Pietersen is due to play his last game in Australia tomorrow for Melbourne Stars. He added: “When you play a lot of one-day cricket you get to grips with passages of play, you understand the game and you do not panic as much as somebody who does not know what is going on.

“The first person to panic is the one who fails.”
