Confession was blunder
A GIRL hanged herself after accidentally sending a message to her boyfriend revealing she had been unfaithful.
Charlotte Guy had meant to send the confession to a pal.
But instead it went to 20-year-old boyfriend Jack Hurst.
Realising her mistake, the 17-yearold student then sent a farewell message to her on-off partner.
She said: “Goodbye. Please forgive me. I love you – knowing that you hate me is enough.”
In a statement at her inquest, Jack said he had refused to talk to Charlotte about her affair.
He said: “She sent me a Snapchat message that was meant for her friend. She apologised and said she was a horrible person. She said that she wanted to talk and explain but I said that I didn’t feel like talking.” It was then that Charlotte, of Orrell, Wigan, sent her final messages to Jack. Charlotte’s parents Martin and Deborah Guy told the inquest their daughter had a history of self-harm. Recording a narrative verdict at the inquest in Bolton, coroner Alan Walsh described Charlotte as “troubled”. He said: “Her trigger points were workrelated stress of both college and work and domestic life with her boyfriend. “That may well have been a factor to affect her state of mind. “The effect it will have on her family and friends is beyond imagination.” O
