Sad loss of Nick

NICK LUCY, a Midlands football reporter for the Daily Star and other national newspapers, has died suddenly, age 54.

A highly-respected freelance journalist and PR consultant, based in Leicester, Nick was a popular figure in press boxes.

He had also served as communications manager for Leicestershire County Cricket Club from 2005-08 and head of media at Premier League Stoke for four years.

Nick leaves wife Caroline, children Kiera and Marc, and stepson Tom.

Former England cricketer Paul Nixon, now head coach at Leicestershire, joined the tributes to Nick.

He said: “Just heard the extremely sad news that our ex-Leics CCC friend and colleague Nick Lucy passed away suddenly. All our thoughts are with Caroline and family at this sad time.”
