DAN’S TELLY HORROR PLUNGE

Enders’ hard man ‘demands answers’

FURIOUS Danny Dyer last night called for ITV to explain why his daughter Dani was injured on new reality show Survival Of The Fittest.

FURIOUS Danny Dyer was demanding answers last night after his injured daughter pulled out of ITV’s new reality show.

Sexy Dani dislocated her shoulder just seconds into her opening assault course challenge on the first episode of ITV2’s Survival Of The Fittest.

The 21-year-old picked up the freak injury as she plunged from a water slide into a shallow pool.

Despite bravely trying to continue, she was screaming in agony when producers were forced to pause the challenge.

She was taken to hospital and ITV medics later decided she could not continue as the show involves regular physical challenges.

Dani was last night said to be “devastated” as her big telly break lay in tatters.

She will fly home to the UK in the next couple of days.

Last night she said: “I will be sitting around not able to compete. I’m not meant to move my arm for a week so there’s no point.

Gutted

“I haven’t stopped training since Christmas. I’ve been dieting. I did Tough Mudder last year and I didn’t even hurt myself then.

“I’ve been constantly training and now I’ve gone and dislocated my shoulder. It is what it is, I suppose.

“My experience in the lead-up to going into The Lodge was just amazing, so I’m absolutely gutted.

“If I could go back and not dislocate my shoulder, I would definitely change it. I hope this isn’t the last you’ve seen of me.”

Insiders said EastEnders hardman Danny was consoling his “baby girl” by phone and demanding answers from show bosses.

A show source said: “Bosses are as gutted as Danny as they all loved Dani. It’s a freak accident. It’s such a shame for her.”

An ITV spokesman said: “As Survival Of The Fittest involves physical challenges which she wouldn’t be able to take part in, Dani isn’t in a position to be able to return to The Lodge and will therefore leave the show.”

Danny had been worried about seeing randy blokes trying to bed Dani on telly.

He threatened to “do over” anyone who messed her around.

Instead, he will now have to nurse his daughter back to health at home in Essex.

Dani’s pals and mum Jo were last night due to attend a Survival Of The Fittest launch party at the pub she works at in Essex.

Fellow contestants were concerned as soon as Dani landed in the water in the blazing South African sun.

Bodybuilder Jenny Cole said: “Oh my God what a trooper. She carried on going.”

Bookies Coral had given Dani odds of 2-1 to win.
