TOM HIT BY DEATH THREATS OVER TOT
Sicko trolls attack diver and husband BURRELL: DIANA SENT ME A MAN
DIVER Tom Daley and his husband have received death threats after announcing they are expecting a baby.
The Olympic star, 23, and film director Dustin Lance Black, 43, revealed their happy news on Valentine’s Day by sharing a picture of their ultrasound scan.
But internet trolls said they will be “put to death” for bringing a tot into a gay marriage. They ordered them to “repent and burn in hell” before vowing “blood shall be upon them”.
Other sickos accused the couple of “destroying our lives and the path of the mother nature”.
One said: “Is Tesco selling babies on it shelves? This is sick as it gets.”
Unkind
Thousands were stunned by the torrent of hate and sent supportive messages instead.
A fan wrote: “Two people who love each other are going to parent a child and are happy about it. How unkind and cynical folks are.”
And one said: “These comments are making me sick.
“Anyone can be a parent, regardless of sexuality.”
A spokesman for gay rights charity Stonewall ® said: “It was depressing to see the amount of online abuse directed at Tom and Dustin.
“Social media and online platforms should make clear that anti-LGBT abuse is unacceptable.”
It is not known when the ultrasound was taken but some eagle-eyed fans believe it was in December, although the date is partly obscured.
Bookies offered 66-1 that the couple would call the baby Aqua after Tom’s water passion.
But the favourite name is Robert at 1-8, in honour of Tom’s late dad who died in 2011 when the athlete was just 17. ®
