this year when he runs the unbeaten Sacred Life in the 2000 Guineas at Newmarket.

Doyle and Haggas, also successful in last Saturday’s Lincoln at Doncaster with Addeybb, have become the dream team since the start of the New Year.

After Victory Bond’s victory, Maureen Haggas, representing her husband, said: “That was pretty good today.”

And Doyle added: “We got a dream run round and he showed what he can do. We were able to wait until we got into the straight, because I had the room to do so, and when I pressed the button it was pretty good.

“Today could not have panned out any better and he came through to win in dominant fashion today. I knew Master The World [the second home] would be finishing, but it was very easy. “William’s horses are in fantastic shape. The horses he has run here today, it was their main target for the winter.

“The other two have performed fantastic – it was a good training performance.”

Despite a wet and bitterly cold afternoon a crowd of 7,000 rocked up to witness a day which will go down in history as the day France again conquered.
