SUPERSTAR DJ AVICII DEAD AT ONLY 28

® CHART-topping Swedish DJ Avicii was found dead in Oman yesterday at the age of 28.

The music producer, who boasted two UK number ones, had been nominated for a Billboard Music Award for top dance/electronic album just days earlier .

The Wake Me Up star – real name Tim Bergling – worked with a host of top names including Robbie Williams, Chris Martin, Wyclef Jean, David Guetta and Jon Bon Jovi.

One of his most recent singles was with Rita Ora called Lonely Together.

He was found dead in Muscat. His publicist said: “It is with profound sorrow that we announce the loss of Tim Bergling, also known as Avicii. The family is devasWORLD tated and we ask everyone to please respect their need for privacy in this difficult time.”

DJ Calvin Harris tweeted: “Devastatin­g news about Avicii, a beautiful soul, passionate and extremely talented.”

Singer Dua Lipa wrote: “Too young and way too soon. x.”

Avicii battled with acute pancreatit­is – which is a potentiall­y life-threatenin­g inflammati­on of the pancreas – due in part to excessive drinking.

He had his gallbladde­r and appendix removed in 2014, cancelling shows.

The superstar DJ had quit touring in 2016 but continued recording music in the studio.
