SESS EYES BIG TIME

- by Paul Brown

RYAN SESSEGNON does not need a bigmoney move to get into the Premier League – he may be playing there with Fulham.

The England Under-21 star and Championship Player of the Year showed why he is wanted by a host of top-flight clubs with his 15th goal of the season.

Kevin McDonald and Aleksandar Mitrovic added goals as Fulham ended Millwall’s 17-match unbeaten run, extended their own to 22, and climbed into second place.

Lions boss Neil Harris promised Fulham a “cauldron of noise” and the deafening, sold-out Den did not disappoint in a frantic, breathless derby.

Millwall were first to every ball from the kick-off and Marcus Bettinelli did well at full stretch to tip Jake Cooper’s header from a corner on to the bar.

Fulham had another escape when referee Andre Marriner ruled out George Saville’s close-range shot for a foul by Jed Wallace on Matt Targett. Marriner gave the goal but changed his mind on the advice of linesman Richard West.

Fulham defender Tim Ream then cleared a shot from Wallace off his line before Targett skimmed the bar at the other end with a belter from 25 yards.

Fulham weathered an almighty storm and took the lead 41 seconds after the break from their first shot on target.

Keeper Jordan Archer could only push a shot from Mitrovic back into the danger zone and Sessegnon pounced to slip it between his legs.

McDonald then cut in from the left and spanked one into the top corner from 25 yards.

The Lions never gave up but substitute Tim Cahill was lucky to escape a red for a nasty elbow on Ryan Fredericks before Mitrovic smashed in the third.
