ALL LOVED UP

Heart-throb Moore is a miracle worker

-

DARREN MOORE claims the whole country wants West Brom to conjure up a miracle and beat the drop.

The Baggies caretaker boss reckons his side have captured the hearts of the nation by taking their survival battle into the final week of the season.

Moore’s feat in the dugout would surely eclipse the one he played in 2005. Under Bryan Robson, West Brom looked down and out but defied the odds to survive.

Albion were 10 points off safety when heavily,” he said. “My alarm seems to wake me up all the time now because I go into a deep sleep, a lot deeper than before. “But we’ll just continue to work hard and evaluate this result and look to a fresh week and start preparing for another tough game.”

West Brom relied on Ben Foster to keep an off-colour Spurs at bay, with the keeper making smart saves from Harry Kane and Erik Lamela in either half.

But West Brom knew only victory would do and their late pressure was rewarded when Livermore pounced following a scramble with almost the last kick of the game.

The result leaves Spurs looking over their shoulders at Chelsea in their bid to seal a Champions League return.

Goalkeeper Hugo Lloris said: “The good thing is that we still have our destiny in our hands.

“There are still two games to go – two home games. So it is up to us, but we need to stay confident and keep believing in ourselves.

“Third or fourth doesn’t matter. The main objective is to be in the top four. Then, if we can finish higher it is good for the club, good for the fans and good for the players.

“But I think we all want to start the new era of the club in the new stadium with Champions League football.”
