FURY AT MEG SISTER’S ‘FREE ROBINSON’ PLEA
THE sister of the Duchess of Sussex has called for EDL founder Tommy Robinson to be released from jail.
Samantha Markle urged her thousands of Twitter followers to sign a petition.
Robinson, 35, was jailed for 13 months for contempt of court after live streaming a rant about a sensitive trial.
But Meg’s sister Samantha branded the court’s decision “ridiculous” and urged ®
Prime Minister Theresa May to back her. Samantha said: “I do not feel that Tommy Robinson should have been jailed.
“Violent protesters that endanger others should be jailed.
“I don’t agree with everything he has to say, but I feel that he should be entitled to freedom of speech.”
But social media users were quick to blast both Samantha’s outburst and Robinson’s claim that he was a political prisoner.
Faisal Khan wrote: “Samantha Tommy Robinson was arrested for breaking the law on reporting restrictions on a live Trial (put in place to prevent people from influencing the verdict).”
Aania wrote: “Tommy Robinson supporters make me laugh, he isn’t a political prisoner, he is a racist fascist criminal serving time for contempt of court so let’s NOT #freetommy.” PROTEST: Samantha A WOMAN accused of making a pipe bomb was told yesterday she will face trial in October.
