Mum tries to take drugs into jail... in her privates

A MOTHER who tried to smuggle drugs into prison inside her vagina was jailed for three and a half years.

Kathleen Paccione visited her nephew in jail with 150g of Spice stashed in her undies and 14g of cannabis concealed inside her privates.

A court heard the street value was about £8,900 – but desperate addicts behind bars would pay up to £20,000 for the drugs.

Paccione, 46, admitted possessing the drugs and also pleaded guilty to possessing heroin and cocaine with intent to supply.

Gloucester Crown Court was told that Paccione was arrested at Guys Marsh jail, Dorset, last October after being searched by guards as she entered.

She claimed to have agreed to smuggle the drugs to pay off her own drug debts.

Her lawyer, Joe Maloney, told Recorder Jeremy Wright that the mother of one, from Gloucester, was a vulnerable adult with a raft of health problems.

He said both Paccione and her daughter had written to the court begging for a soft sentence. He added: “It must be heartbreaking for both daughter and mum to see each other in this difficult situation.”

The court heard that she was pressured to smuggle drugs by a “cuckoo-in-the-nest” dealer, Ahmed Hassan, 21, of London, who had moved into her home. Somalian-born Hassan was jailed for two and a half years after he also admitted possessing heroin and cocaine with intent to supply.
