We’ll guide Tyson to AJ showdown

- frank waren Interview by KEVIN FRANCIS

TYSON FURY could be ready to face Anthony Joshua in three fights.

‘The Gypsy King’ returns to the ring tonight against Sefer Seferi and we finally get to see what he looks like back inside the ropes.

I, for one, am extremely excited about his comeback – as all boxing fans should be.

This is a fight about getting him back, it was about giving him a date that he could focus on and make all the weight loss worth it.

Fury has shed almost eight stone to get back into fighting shape and get ready to tackle the big boys in the heavyweight division again.

Tonight at Manchester Arena we will get to see just how sharp, how fit and how good he still is after two and a half years out following that huge win over Wladimir Klitschko in November 2015. This will tell us how long it will take for Fury to get back to the very top of the division, where I firmly believe he belongs.

We just have to make sure that the comeback is handled correctly and he gets the right step up fights at the right time.

WBA ‘regular’ champion Manuel Charr is a possible future opponent for Fury, who will be kept busy over the next 12 months.

But as long as the comeback goes to plan, and Fury looks as good in the ring as he has in the gym, then I see no reason why a Joshua fight cannot happen soon.

Joshua (left) needs to beat Fury before he can truly call himself the world heavyweight champion. He may have Fury’s old WBA, IBF and WBO belts, but my man never lost them in the ring and he is coming to claim them back.

Manchester’s own Terry Flanagan is also in a big fight tonight at the city’s arena as he bids to become a two-weight world champion against Maurice Hooker.

The American will test Flanagan in the WBO light-welterweight clash, with even bigger fights ahead for the winner.
