THE wife of ex-Chelsea star Yuri Zhirkov is leading a contest to find the hottest World Cup WAG. Beauty queen Inna Zhirkova, 28, topped a readers’ poll run by Russia’s Spletnik online magazine to discover the most “slender, attractive, hot and damn sexy” wife of any member of the host nation’s squad.
She is a former Miss Kaliningrad who said it was love at first sight when she met Yuri aged 17 in 2007. Later she was chosen as Mrs Russia but declined the title. Second is model, actress, linguist and chemist Katerina Gerun, 31, wife of goalkeeper Igor Akinfeev.
Defender Vasili Berezutski’s wife Olga, 32, a dancer and champion synchronised swimmer, was lying third ahead of ballet director and former Miss Russia Anastasia Kostenko, 24, whose partner Dmitry Tarasov did not make the squad.
