Dan driven on by lost years

-

DANNY CIPRIANI has set his sights on making up for his lost decade in an England shirt.

The fly-half will make his first England start in 10 years against South Africa at Newlands, Cape Town, tomorrow.

With the series already decided, the Wasps star replaces George Ford for the third Test and is determined his return to the side won’t be a one-off.

Cipriani, 30, said: “I want to be in this England team for as long as I possibly can. I’ve been in and out of it for a while. A lot of it was to do

from PETE SAMSON with my own doing and sometimes it was down to different personalities.

“But I persevered and made sure I’ve done everything to get back to the squad. I find a way.

“I just have to make sure I take it with both hands and play to the best of my ability.”

Cipriani’s recall is one of four changes to the side beaten by the Springboks 23-12 last Saturday.

England will be without Brad Shields because of food poisoning so Chris Robshaw returns.

Harlequins team-mate Joe Marler stands in for Mako Vunipola, who has returned early for the birth of his son.

Brother Billy, who underwent surgery on his broken arm yesterday, is replaced at No.8 by Nathan Hughes.
